Red Dead Redemption two.  A warning to viewers, this video will have major spoilers for the plot of Red Dead.  This game is set in an absolutely beautiful world that just immerses you in the role of Arthur Morgan.  You can make Arthur a murderer, a nice guy who helps everyone he can, or someone in-between.  This allows Arthur to almost be a mirror to yourself, the player, as to how you want to live your life.  You can go exploring, visit a bar, or be a bandit, the world is your oyster.  Unlike some other games where everything is taken seriously, there are many lighthearted moments in this game.  These moments are imperative to show the gravity of the bad times that would come later.  The game starts in a bit of turmoil, but eventually settles into its main gist: get as much money as possible.  This can be by robbing a nearby citizen, hunting animals and selling their skins, or planning a bank robbery.  In the beginning of the game Arthur is no different in the sense that he had no serious moral obligations with the happenings in front of him, but as the game progresses Arthur contracts Tuberculosis which makes him face his mortality.  This very point in the game is where all of your prior actions of ill-doings catch up to you.  This great slap in the face shows Arthur that his actions will affect the way he is remembered, so he tries to be a better man.  This choice is all up to you.  The honor system allows the player control of Arthur’s narrative as to whether this moment sparks a change or not. The most important takeaway from this game is when Arthur re-encounters a nun he helped earlier in the game.  This one statement shows that the way we perceive ourselves can be completely different from what others see, and if we strive to be better people every day, then we can be the people we want to be.
